Actionable tips:
- Reframe your setbacks. After a challenging call, focus on what you learned and how it brings you closer to your goals rather than dwelling on the loss.
- Spend a few minutes each day visualising a successful call or meeting to keep your mindset focused on positive outcomes.
“Your mindset is shaped by what you consistently focus on, because your inner world is influenced by those thoughts.” - Marcus Aurelius
Your mindset shapes your outcomes and if you dwell on missed deals and pressure, negativity seeps in.
But if you focus on strengths and opportunities, you’ll bring that energy into every client conversation.
Think of it like method acting for sales; channel a winning mindset, and you’ll project confidence, resilience, and value.
Take a moment each morning to visualize success, set your intentions, and act accordingly. The rest will follow.
Remember you will die.

It's the first of April and I wanted to kick off by just saying congratulations. Obviously we heard the news recently you've won a very special award. Congratulations to Zach Thompson, of the Year.
It's nasty, innit? It's nasty. But what is the news? Because there is news. There is news. We have a meeting. It's just gone public. So, Congratulations. You're welcome. You're welcome. We're both millionaires. Ha ha ha! April Fools. You didn't expect that, did you? But the award is great stuff, Thanks, man.
Your mind will take the shape of what you frequently hold in thought for the human spirit is colored by such impressions. Marcus Aurelius. Nice. It feels like a different month. It does feel like a different month. And I think that a nice place to take this would be talking about manifestation. OK. So I'm a big believer in manifestation, but I don't think we've actually ever had like a heart to heart conversation about it because I don't know what your feelings are towards it.
I feel funny about it in some ways. But then my wife's a big believer in it. I know other people are. think the trouble I have with it is people just being like, if I think something, it'll come true. If I just think it hard enough, it'll happen. So that's the problem with manifestation, right? But if you say, right, okay, this is what I want to achieve. And you set your goal and you think about it and your positive affirmations. What happened when we spoke to a...
Chris Voss, he was saying that he makes better decisions when he's in a good mood. People are making better decisions and acting more rationally. 40 % more intelligent decisions or something when you're in a good mood. Yeah. So by being positive and optimistic, it's only going to have a compound net effect of being better and making better decisions. What I also think it does is open up your eyes. So if your only goal is to hit target and that is what you are thinking about continuously,
What's going to happen is your eyes are going to open up to all the different ways to hit target. Do you know what mean? So for me, manifestation isn't sitting on a sofa and saying, I want to hit target this month and then not doing anything because that's not how it happened. What actually happened is it sparks a thought and that thought then becomes the action. So the action drives it forward and it's just opening up your eyes to probably things that you didn't see before. Think about like,
now that you run a business and you've been doing this for three, four years, think about a decade ago. Did you always see business opportunities everywhere? No. Right. But all of a sudden it's the same sort of thing of you buy a red car, you see red cars everywhere. So is it magic? No, it's just that part of your brain. We only use 20 % of our brain. Can we get a fact check on that? Do we use 20 % of our brain? check in the studio. find out about the percentage of the brain. I don't think it's 20%. It's 10%.
10 % of the brain. For you. Very good. Very good. I'm Zach, by the way. Nice to meet you. So what you focus on becomes your reality. You can't kind of move away from those people that have a mission or a goal. The Stoics used to have missions, didn't they? This is my goal. I'm going to achieve this. And if you don't let anything get in your way, you're going to achieve it. I'm going to say something. I'm actually not winding you up because I just think it's one of my favorite things about you.
I remember saying to you once, imagine if you were actually as fit as you think you are. Right. And you went, yeah, but mate, you can laugh all you want, but is it better to go into a room thinking you're really fit or not? I think that's the power of the mind, isn't it? To just go and just thinking, I am just the fittest person in this room. I think it's like a really fun- The way that you was told that story is it was meant to be a nice positive story. And I don't think it's coming across in the way that you intended.
But I confidence is key, like confidence is dependent. There is being deluded. No, you're a really handsome guy. Thank you, mate. There is that confidence there. But if you have a choice of going into a room and feeling confident or going into a room and not feeling confident, which would you pick? I know which one I'd rather be. Yeah. But then what about people who are like all meek and shy? get a bit of... Who's that guy in the corner, isn't there?
Mmm, they might get a little bit, but anyway, that's conversation extroverts versus introverts. I'm sure we've made the point. Anyway, I'm Jack Frimston. I'm Zack Thompson. Remember you'll die. Jelly on the carpet. Woo hoo hoo.
